What's new - Shorter skirts this spring
why knee length skirts work IRL, incl. The Row, Toteme take on it, in weekly notes Lemaire £100 net bag, Savette Resort25, Almada Label, Manà x Carina Nicklas shell collection;
With foolish optimism for spring, London has been unapologetically gloomy for nearly two months now, wrapped in softest cashmere, I cosied up with my macbook looking for leads to start my spring wardrobe refresh. My kind of comfort this winter came in the form of Almada set combined with Lisa Yang cashmere socks.
As I started looking for knee length skirts, for a second I thought that my incline to consider wearing shorter skirts, was driven by the fact that I’ve recently watched Notting Hill and took a screenshot of this Ashley Olsen look. But after re-watching some of the SS25 runways and browsing new arrivals, I concluded that conscious shift is happening.

I will be blunt and say that knee length is the most practical and most flattering length of skirt for daily life. Not too long and not too short, just right; friendlier to shorter and petite ladies; easier to layer under shorter coats; perfect piece for someone who loves to create a perfect balance between masculine and feminine style. Not to mention it is a hardworking wardrobe essential for office ladies, which takes you from office to dinner with zero effort.
Since Miuccia Prada is well known for her flattering skirts, I went straight to the source and picked up this Miu Miu corduroy number on My Theresa. She also has been serving knee length Miu Miu jersey slips for the past few summers, I’m still in love with mine!
Miu Miu Skirt; Saint Laurent heels; Uniqlo cardigan; sleeveless turtleneck (old), but this one from Leset is perfect; Saint Laurent sunglasses; Khaite clutch;
Miu Miu Skirt; Leather blazer (very old), but this one from Nour Hammour would look so so good!; Saint Laurent sunglasses; Khaite boots.
But it didn’t end there. Sold out The Row Irene and Sarto skirts just confirmed to me that fashion is getting sexier, so to speak. And we are being geared to start swapping our jeans and wide-leg trousers for skirts upcoming season.
Toteme, I just want to wear the whole 01 look off the Runway and call it a day. However, this will only be available in summer, as part of pre-fall collection, but I have my alarm set for this.

WEEKLY NOTES
I’ve spotted this Lemaire net mini when browsing new arrivals, such a chic mini to carry card case and lip gloss in all summer. Originally I was meant to check out this parka which they dropped recently, I was deliberately waiting for it since I loved their SS25 Runway styling so much. And very seriously considering getting this shirt as it is on a low stock and can be worn over the trousers without tucking it in.
Phoebe Philo just landed in Galeries Lafayette Paris. In case you’ve missed it, she also has a space in Dover Street Market in London, which I still haven’t visited, but very soon. I’m itching to try on club loafer.
Savette Resort 2025 collection is live now and wine colour Symmetry Pochette is already sold out. I had my eye firm set on this one in black leather, but I have so many black bags and pouches at this point that I’m starting to lean into this wine suede Slim Pochette.
EB Denim, known for their low rise denim, just launched in Harrods. I have my eye on this Low rise baggy - Manhattan pair.
Manà & Carrie’s Substack just announced their collaboration creating limited edition capsule collection of 5 pieces, celebrating perfect balance between shells and tassels; I want every piece, but especially Necklace 03.
New arrivals in Almada label are making me even more impatient for warmer days. Can we just appreciate how good this crepe set will look in spring and summer?
Speak soon,
Victoria x
