No better time than a present
talking pilates looks, The Row sign off on windbreaker, Luisaviaroma discounts, Liffner micro bags, Khaite Resort 25
Unintentionally, but I couldn’t pick a better time to talk about activewear, or in women’s world Pilates run looks. That’s the only exercise I do and the only occasion I wear stretchy pants for (unless they are “going out” leggings, like toteme ones that I pair with boots and turtlenecks, on my last post newsletter here). January is notoriously known for its “go back to the gym, change your life” energy. Did you know that only less than 10% of people actually achieve their goals long term? I’m desperate to be on the smaller scale of the statistics.
My friend once told me that she has a better workout when her gym outfit is good, but she’s more athletic and cares about exercise more than me, hands down. However, I think she has a point. I felt unapologetically good about myself going to Reformer classes in the past few weeks and I’m convinced, the outfits were a big part of it.
Leggings and maxi coats
My most recent Reformer run looks are a lot about maxi coats and loafers, and office outfit neatly packed in my Cabas. I also think this look would go really good with Charvet slippers, but I’m still waiting for my size to be back in stock. And most of the time, I go to Pilates before the office, so would just style a pair I’ll be wearing with my office look that day (sometimes it’s khaite boots even). That’s why I love Pilates, there’s no need to lug around trainers with you!
The outfit: Varley bra and Sweater, Varley leggings, The Frankie Shop Nicola Coat (sold out everywhere, but Gaia is a good option), Phoebe Philo Cabas, Hermes Destin loafer.
This top can also transform into turtleneck which I appreciate the most on cold mornings.
Another look I like to wear a lot.
From left to right: Onesie (also perfect sleeve option here); Leset t-shirt; Cos knit (another option from Lisa Yang in brown for higher budget, The Row Ophelia for a very high one); Charvet slippers; Cashmere socks; chic hoops to finish off.
Full tracksuit look
The Row Sign off on windbreaker in SS2024 collection wasn’t entirely unexpected, but it is mixing sports with classics. And look 18 will be my ultimate reference finding one for myself.
This spring, industry is catching up as we speak, and wearing sporty windbreaker with classic pair of tailored pants will be one of THE trends. Just take a look at this one from Cos already (these trousers are so good as well). I haven’t done long research on this yet, but it’s coming.
I did though find Adanola track-pants and windbreaker that are on consistent sold out basis, since they’ve launched campaign featuring Kendall Jenner.
WEEKLY NOTES
Almada label started making smart trousers. I love their approach to season-less wardrobe. The brand initially took off with their excellent quality of knitwear and coats, made to last for years, but now they’re exploring tailoring. Which makes me both, excited and wanting to rock these soft wool Penny Trousers to the office, because London isn’t warming up anytime soon.
Khaite Resort collection is ready on their website. I’ve been rocking my regular Nevada boots for two seasons now (and I mean it, going to the office, out and about and yes, they’re very comfortable for high heel boots), but this time they released Nevada boots with Haircalf detail, talk about adding texture to all black look. My size sold out already. And I’m still left contemplating which jacket is more perfect Saraphina or Darlman, or maybe it is Saphra coat.
Luisaviaroma is offering 15% off from selection of full priced items with a code LVR15 until 20th of January. They’re also throwing in free shipping for all orders in EU, and Worldwide orders for $300 and over. I quickly checked and this Loulou Studio Red leather jacket , that I’ve shared in my notes the other day, qualifies for the discount (seriously considering it), they make it in black too; this black leather midi couldn’t be more perfect (sold out on nap already, last time I checked) and Martil coat has my name written all over it; pretty much everything from Khaite qualifies for the discount and include few goodies from Resort 2025 collection, like these ponyskin Monroe loafers their new wash denim.
The Row New in section, I will just leave it here for you in case you would like to spend an hour or two in perfect minimalism. I need a new pair of black jeans, Bercy looks perfect, sold out on The Row website, but will keep an eye on these, will let you know! This turtleneck sold out already too, it is shaping to be new it item this spring, I found few that I like here and here. And Tah hat (below), yes, sold out too!
Moda Operandi launched exclusive collection with Posse, perhaps to start us off with dreams about summer. It is dreamy, and my favourite piece is Harlan Knit Vest, I’m putting it together in my head with every pair of trousers I have and I believe it would work.
Toteme New Day Bag! If I wouldn’t have bought my Phoebe Philo Cabas for day wear just recently, this is the one I would be buying right now.
Alaia Le Teckel comes in a form of clutch now. It’s been out for a while, so not exactly new, but I’ve just noted it, so I’m adding this in for those out of the loop like myself.
Liffner just released micro pillow pouch in leopard. If you wanted to start small on a trending leopard print everywhere, this one is for you!
Speak soon,
Victoria xx
