Lace affair in fall
Number of realistic outfit ideas to style lace for fall and shoppable recs, also briefing on Mana seashell inspired jewellery.
I’d rather caught up with lace late in the year, didn’t I? Well it is mainly, because I spent all summer looking for an affordable, yet good looking slip skirt with the lace detail on the bottom hem. And I found it, in September, at J.Crew to be exact. And although I would’ve enjoyed wearing this in summertime, which I did for a brief moment when I went to Milan last week and one day it was at 24°C degrees and sunny, I quickly remembered that I’m not the only one having “crazy”ideas to layer something light, slip and lacy for winter.
Prada has presented light skirts in their Fall24 collection, very cleverly layered. I just love the idea that you can have a little overcoat for your skirt. I briefly looked into it when I visited Selfridges about a month ago when they’ve just launched the collection in stores, but I’m planning to go back soon to properly try it on (will share it when I do!). This one is my favourite.

Then Saint Laurent pre-fall and fall 2024 collections are all about transparent and lace skirts, layered under the big coats and leather jackets.
And so I started looking what else is on the market; Hyde and Stone dress with teeny tiny lace detail has been on my mind since the launch, they also do the top version; Beaufille skirt, so special, love the lace detail being at the top part of the skirt rather than bottom, and paired with this vest.
But let’s go back to the lace skirt I keep going on about, not only here, but on my instagram as well. With the fall in mind I’m certainly thinking about layers to go with it. This Toteme leather coat and Cos Trench; Leset turtleneck vest that have just been launched and already in my shopping basket, as it is simply the most perfect one I’ve found recently, when searching for minimal 90s looks; also Leset t-shirts, very popular amongst the fashion crowd; Teym shirt and this one from Toteme; Larroude boots which I’ve recently had delivered and plan to pair with as many skirts and dresses, as I can find; necklaces from cos and Labro; and finally Phoebe Philo cabas bag which became the only bag I carry on a daily; also this Khaite bag is at the back of my mind for the days when I want to carry small one.
I was also thinking about navy jumpers a lot lately. Navy is not the new black yet, but I’m seeing more and more designers bringing it back as an option, I think The Row Gala pants (although unrelated to this newsletter) prompted my interest to incorporate this colour into my wardrobe and luckily it goes very well with white/creme colour. I’m considering me+em half zip jumper, the zip detail serves as pretty accessory; Almada label and Cos cashmere; I’d love to pair this look with these Bottega pumps that are almost a hybrid between ankle boot and a pump or loafers for ultimate comfort; small Saint Laurent clutch that is on my wishlist at the moment.
And before I wrap up for this week’s newsletter, I wanted to talk about Mana, jewellery studio, which captivated my attention the second I saw one of their shell amulets being used as a belt. Netherlands born brand has entire collection inspired by the sea in the most perfect way possible. And they also do objects, which means, besides the necklace amulet, I absolutely must have this paperweight on my coffee table too.
