Helmut Lang Jeans are NOT my sales shopping mistake
Delivering 5 very simple looks with dark denim Helmut Lang Jeans I've bought on NAP sale
Last week I’ve shared my very first sales edit on my substack, handful of items from each luxury retailer with a mission to help you find some gems in the sea of sales. I’ve specifically stuck with quite minimal and fall forward looking pieces, because my motto is to buy pieces that I can wear within a matter of a month, not a year. And nothing is more fall than swapping light denim for darker shade. So here I’m delivering 5 looks with one pair of Helmut Lang jeans, which are no longer available on Net-a-Porter, but I have found them here and here still available.
The denim trend is shifting pretty slow and we are still in our slouchy and comfy denim phase after all, but I can’t help but notice slimmer shapes coming into the market with a hint of 90s minimalism. And I feel very strongly ready for this change. I’ve briefly touched on it in my previous newsletter, here.
Look 1
Some may say that sleeveless turtleneck is everything, but practical. Well I beg to different, it is a perfect piece for layering, be it under/over the shirt, coat and I even like to wear for night out with midi skirt and pair of heels to make it interesting. Here I’m wearing my jeans with a sleeveless turtleneck which I’ve purchased years ago from zara. But I found some good quality and affordable options from Aritzia and Reformation. And because I have one in black already, I have purchased grey option from Artizia (I would advise to go one size up, unless you prefer it very fitted, and I mean it very fitted!). I also love this waistcoat from Gestuz tucked into the jeans and worn with belt.
Look 2
Brown suede jacket and dark blue denim, do I even need to say more? I’m pairing it with black basic tee I’ve purchased from Uniqlo, Khaite boots, zara belt (not available anymore) and Bottega Jodi.
Look 3
This light blazer type coat has been breaking my dms on instagram since the day I started wearing it, and it is one of the pieces that will always be there for you. So no surprise I’ve reached out for it to pair with my new pair of jeans. It is very classic look that doesn’t require much effort, but always looks like you’ve made an effort. I’m wearing The Frankie shop coat, Teym long sleeve t-shirt (I think Teym is one of the best places to buy your basics, quality is top notch), Labro bead necklace, same Khaite boots and same bag.
Look 4
I’m a big fan of impromptu dinners and when they come up, I always reach out to my favourite denim and pair of kitten heels (mainly these miumius in dark red lately) and just pretty much any top. I’m wearing zara top (no longer available), but I would also love pairing it with this Helmut Lang scarf top, which I wore the other day for late lunch.
Look 5
Finally, this is what I call my Friday Office look, pair of jeans and grey blazer, business casual so to say. But I’ve dressed it up with my Prada heels (old, similar here) and necklace from Ani, also wearing The Frankie Shop blazer and same Teym long sleeve t-shirt.
Before I go here are few recs to straight/slim jeans that I found recently. Frame makes these straight jeans that hits right above the ankle, not quite cropped, but exposes loafers in full and I love it; also these Agolde straight jeans in black are proper fall option; and the re/done pair, slightly looser fit, but still straight silhouette.
See you soon,
Victoria x
